Live Louder – Custom Summer Camp
Custom Summer Camp is a camp held every year for middle and high school students. It challenges students to live set apart from their communities and to be a difference maker in their schools. The 2018 conference theme was “Live Louder,” and so we were charged with coming up with an opener that would get the students hyped up and excited for the camp. We had the script written by one of the members of the camp staff, and then we recorded a student reading the script. The next step was to identify three different environments where students could “live louder” – their home, school, and recreational environment. We then captured students in those environments reading along to the script.
“That’s been one of my mantras — focus and simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex; you have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple.”
“I think if you do something and it turns out pretty good, then you should go do something else wonderful, not dwell on it for too long. Just figure out what’s next.”
