Echo Conference 2010 Highlight Reel

The Echo Conference is an event bringing those involved in media within the church together to encourage one another, to learn new techniques, and above all to remind them that it’s not all about the technology, but instead that there is a greater purpose for what they do.

This video was one I produced for the joy of capturing an event I greatly care about. I approached those in leadership about shooting some footage during the conference to create a highlight reel for their usage in future years. What we ended up with was this short video documenting the conference. Shot while I was attending the conference, only capturing a little footage at each event(I was first and foremost there as a participant, after all!), we were able to create the above video from about 30 minutes of footage shot.

Shot entirely on the Canon 7D using the kit lens, Tokina 11-16 2.8 and the Canon 50mm 1.8. Stabilization done with a Zacuto Rapid Fire, audio capture with a Rode mic.

Hearbeat for Worship – Promo

This is the short cut of the Heartbeat for Worship fundraising video for the 2010 concert. Designed to tell the basic story of the creation of “Heartbeat for Worship,” we captured William Johnson telling how and why he worked to start the organization. The concert footage was pulled from the concert DVD that we produced for him in 2009. Here’s to another great concert in 2010!

You may see the extended cut here: http://vimeo.com/14445048

Friends of Juvenile Justice Longform

This is a longform I edited for the Friends of Juvenile Justice. All of the footage was shot in Columbia and sent up to me for the edit. Originally the video was produced for a live event, but we were able to adapt it to be a general promotional longform for the organization.

The Glenforest School

This is a promotional video I created for “The Glenforest School.” It is a school that serves children with learning differences and focusing issues. The work being done at this school is great and I’m glad to see all that they’re accomplishing!
Shot using HVX200, HMC150 and a Canon 7D. Lenses included a Canon 28-135 and the 50mm 1.8. A Glidetrack was used on a few of the shots as well(mainly the Basketball section.)

Jimmy’s Christmas Vacation Snow

While visiting my parents in PA we happened to be lucky enough to have a decent 2-3 inches of snow one morning. Being the videographer that I am, I couldn’t resist taking out the 7D to get some early morning snow footage of my dog and wife in the snow.

It may help to know that our dog’s name is “Jimmy Durante,” named after the singer of this wonderful song. Enjoy!

East Lake Community Church – Away In A Coffee Shop

How do you promote an upcoming Church play without any footage to back it up? You create a trailer that promotes the ideas within it. East Lake sent along a script and concept idea and I expanded upon it by shooting footage that effectively communicated the ideas from the play. We then worked to creatively integrate a few of the lines into the video and voilla! Shot on the Canon 7D with some stock footage from FootageFirm to supplement.

East Lake Community Church – Generous Living

East Lake came to me looking for a video to promote their end of year giving campaign. They already had a general look and style, they just needed it put together in a package that would communicate their message effectively. The footage and photos were shot by the church and sent along to be integrated into the project. Edited within After Effects and delivered online for a quick turnaround.

Friends of Juvenile Justice 30 Sec PSA

Friends of Juvenile Justice came to me looking for a 30 second PSA to effectively communicate their mission and values. They supplied a script and voice over while I studied their previous marketing efforts and integrated their image into this spot. Created with a quick turnaround in After Effects with the opening shot taken on the Canon 7D using headlights and a simple rotating light to give it the look we wanted. Shot using a 50mm 1.8 lens.

East Lake Community Church – Crossroads Promo

East Lake Community Church came to me with an idea for a new sermon series. We shot a series of 5 different interviews with various members of the church who had come to a crossroads in their life and discussed how they handled it. We wanted to create an introduction to the series to promote it within the church as well as start off each interview.

The video was shot over a short period of time one morning using a Columbia actor friend of mine. Shot using the HVX200 and Redrock kit. Lenses used: Nikon 50mm and 105mm.
